Adrian Herrmann works at the PEM Chair at RWTH Aachen University in the Battery Engineering & Safety group and is an expert in battery safety and testing at cell and system level for sodium and lithium-ion batteries. His focus is on applications in the automotive industry and the stationary energy sector. He is responsible for the area of sodium-ion batteries and has in-depth expertise in the safety assessment and testing of battery systems in various fields of application.

Adrian Herrmann has several years of practical experience in the testing and safety assessment of battery systems for industrial applications. In various projects, he supported partners from research and industry in the development, validation and optimization of sodium and lithium-ion batteries at cell and system level. He was responsible for planning and carrying out safety tests, analyzing error patterns and recommending and supporting measures to increase safety. As part of his work, he also worked closely with an OEM to test battery safety at cell level. In addition, he was involved in the creation of technical documentation and the development of safety concepts for the use of new types of battery systems.
