Introduction to GSR2 (General Safety Regulation 2) / (EU) 2019/2144
GSR 2 (General Safety Regulation 2) has now been in force since 06.07.2022. With the GSR2 and the implementation in the European Regulation (EU) 2019/2144, various assistance systems will become mandatory for new vehicle types to be approved. A transitional period of 2 years applies to types approved before (EU) 2019/2144 comes into force, until these must also be equipped with the corresponding assistance systems.
Page An executive order is now in effect at the end of 2022 that allows relief and derogation for certain categories of vehicles.
