Description
If you introduce products to the market, you are obliged to ensure that the products do not pose a risk to users and others. You are probably familiar with this obligation under the term “product monitoring”.
This means that to ensure this, you need to monitor their own products, but also products of market competitors in the use phase. This results in the initiation of measures for the elimination of errors or risks, if necessary.
The term market surveillance also includes the obligation of the authorities to inspect the products during the use phase and to react to misconduct and “negligence” on the part of manufacturers with appropriate measures.
In this context, the legislator also stipulates that corresponding authorities be installed in the markets. These monitor the products in the field and initiate measures or issue product warnings (e.g. via RAPEX portal). In this way, the legislator ensures that products 1. Compliant and 2. are safe.

Our training on market surveillance and recalls is designed to give you, the participant, easy and quick access to the complex topic.
Important regulations and legal acts are highlighted and explained how you can implement them in practice.
As a participant, you will learn to use tools to identify deviations and risks and how to safely evaluate identified errors and risks. Using the risk assessment according to RAPEX, you will practice on a practical case which criteria are taken into account in order to be able to reliably assess a product defect and derive appropriate measures.

With more than 25 years of professional experience in the automotive industry and over 20 years of experience with legal requirements, he is the head of operations and is always involved in projects and training. His CV is characterized by many stations – among others as an expert of an officially recognized monitoring organization, homologation engineer at a supplier, single point
of contact for recalls to two carlines at an international vehicle manufacturer and 6 years as head of
Conformity of Production. Mark Haacke is also actively involved beyond his professional duties, e.g. in numerous expert panels and various VDA-QMC working groups.

With 20 years of experience in product approval and testing as well as auditing of approval-relevant requirements (GRA) for the KBA, many projects with approval authorities and preparation of customers for initial assessment and type approval extensions up to recall coordination have already been completed operationally or are currently in progress. His curriculum vitae shows various positions in responsible management positions in the field of management systems including test laboratory management, product certification and approval as well as the topics of process optimization, LEAN management and management system optimization and product optimization.
In addition, Achim Gleich is active as a trainer for VDA-QMC for automotive methods as well as in the field of product safety (PSCR, Product Compliance System) and product evaluation (CoP, EOS, field failure analysis) and in auditor training for certifiers.
